fifteenfortyseven Critical Systems Realty Delivers First Phase of Major New Data Center
Orangeburg, N.Y. – Feb. 11, 2015 — fifteenfortyseven Critical Systems Realty (“1547”), a leading developer and operator of custom-designed data centers, announced that it has delivered the first phase of a turnkey data center facility for a major telecommunications and media company at 1547’s location at 1 Ramland Road in Orangeburg, N.Y.
The location was selected for the tenant’s latency-sensitive functions and applications due to its proximity to major fiber routes and for the power cost and incentive advantages over other sites in the tri-state region.
This first phase was designed, engineered, constructed, and commissioned in just four months and covers 1.5MW and 18,000 square feet, with an option for an additional phase adding 1.1MW and 20,000 square feet. Construction was managed by The Martin Group, LLC, with engineering and architecture services provided by Deerns America, Bala Consulting Engineers, and Ted Moudis Associates.
“This was a high-profile, intense build that required completion on a very tight timeframe,” said Andre Grebenstein, president, The Martin Group, “I am proud of our team of proven, datacenter-focused subcontractors and field supervisors who consistently meet demanding schedules for our customers.”
“We are thrilled to welcome this new long-term tenant to 1 Ramland,” said 1547 managing director and co-founder Corey Welp. “We have spent the past two years developing the infrastructure and incentive packages to make 1 Ramland a market leader. This lease is a validation that major companies recognize the benefits of locating mission-critical datacenter infrastructure with us in Orangeburg.”
1 Ramland Road is a two-building datacenter campus near the region’s major highways and located on a fiber junction. The campus has proximity to Manhattan and the large customer base of metro New York. The first building, a 232,000-square-foot, 24MW datacenter, is designed for approximately 120,000 square feet of white space and can support all levels of power density power requirements.
Located in the heart of a regional datacenter cluster that is also home to Bloomberg L.P.’s Orangeburg datacenter and the New York Stock Exchange datacenter in Mahwah, N.J., the property is synchronous with Manhattan and much of the tri-state area.
fifteenfortyseven Critical Systems Realty was formed by executives from a premier national datacenter construction firm and select executives from both the financial services and datacenter industries, to identify and develop unique, tenant-driven data center opportunities. The ownership team has over 25 years of combined experience owning, building and operating data centers. Through its extensive industry relationships, 1547 is able to focus on acquisition and development projects where data center users specifically drive demand and are most active.
