Wright Commissioning: Philadelphia-Area Firm Get a New Home

Philadelphia — Sept, 29, 2015 — Wright Commissioning, the Philadelphia region’s first independent building commissioning firm, has opened an office in 2.0 University Place, a LEED-Platinum building within University City’s thriving technology district.

The growing MBE / WBE-applied firm ensures that the building systems of new and existing facilities function efficiently, effectively, and sustainably.

“Our business is ensuring that your building works the way it was intended to work,” said Kim Wright, CEO. “Building owners and facility managers hire us to optimize the performance and energy-efficiency of HVAC and other building systems for new construction as well as older, landmark structures. As an independent commissioning authority, we are obligated to no one but the client.”

Wright Commissioning occupies Suite 510 of 2.0 University Place at 30 North 41st St. The firm will celebrate its new home during DesignPhiladelphia with a public reception on Oct. 8 from 5-8 p.m. that highlights the commissioning and sustainable aspects of the building. Refreshments will be served on the roof garden, which is the largest in Philadelphia.

Certified by the National Environmental Balancing Bureau and ASHRAE, Wright Commissioning was formerly Brooks + Wright Commissioning, with its office in Center City. Clients and project locations include the firm’s new building in University City, as well as Princeton, Temple, Penn, and West Point; HUP and Main Line Health; Liberty Property Trust, Vanguard, Comcast and Procter & Gamble; the City of Philadelphia, SEPTA, and the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

“We focus on systems accessibility, testability, and maintainability,” said Will Wright, pesident. “Technical commissioning can begin at any stage in the building process, but it has the greatest long-term value when we are involved from the planning and design phase through building occupancy and operation.”

Scott Mazo, the developer of 2.0 University Place, worked to earn LEED Platinum certification for 2.0, the highest rating a building can get for sustainable design and energy efficiency.
