Upgraded HVAC Motor offers Enhanced Efficiency

Regal Beloit Corporation has announced that it has expanded the power range of its UlteMAX axial integral horsepower motor to 3–15 horsepower.

The UlteMAX motor line debuted during the AHR Expo 2017 and has been available in a 3–10 horsepower (2; 2–7; 5 kW) range in two form factors. The new release increases the offering to 15 horsepower (11 kW) in a slightly larger unit.

“Our customers have been vocal about wanting more power in the UlteMAX motor,” said Regal’s Howard Richardson, business leader, Advanced Technologies. “The ability to offer a motor of this horsepower in a smaller, physical size is a big step regarding our capacity to bring our customers the best products we can in a variety of options to meet their unique needs.”

The motor, rich in new benefits, will be about half the weight and size of traditional induction motors and include an integrated configurable control for fast, easy installation, operation and serviceability. The UlteMAX motor and control also reduce the average motor inventory by more than 50 percent through consolidation into easily configurable sizes ranging from 3–15 horsepower.

The UlteMAX motor has been well-received in the commercial HVAC industry, receiving five awards since its debut, including: a Gold Dealer Design Award from ACHR News; a Silver Excellence in Design Award by appliance DESIGN magazine; a finalist for the AHR Innovation Awards; the Product of the Year Award from Plant Engineering magazine; and the Product of the Year Award from Consulting Specifying Engineering magazine.
