Date: 21 Sep 2011
Time: 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM

Program Description:

Join the USGBC - Illinois Chapter's, North / Northwest Suburban Branch for a program hosted by Siemens in Buffalo Grove, Commissioning - Making Your Sustainable Investment Pay.
Commissioning is now standard on all LEED projects; however, its value is not always well understood by owners, contractors and the design team.  In this presentation, we will discuss the importance and value of commissioning innovative systems, defined as systems that are new to the designer and/or the contractor.  Innovative systems may be systems that have been used elsewhere, but not "here."  We find that the more innovative a system, the more "fragile" its performance becomes.  This presentation is geared toward owners, architects, engineers, contractors and commissioning authorities who have had some experience with commissioning and who would benefit from participating in a dialogue on how best to make sure that innovative systems function properly through the commissioning process.
Attendees should have a fundamental understanding of the commissioning process.  Ideally, they will have participated in a project with commissioning, but it is not required.
