Transwestern: The Sunset in LA Named 'Outstanding Building'
Los Angeles — Nov. 3, 2015 — Transwestern announced that the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) Greater Los Angeles chapter has named The Sunset “The Outstanding Building of the Year” (TOBY) for 2015.
The award recognizes outstanding commercial office buildings and excellence in building management and operations. Transwestern manages the 71,119-square-foot office building owned by Broadreach Capital Partners.
“We are honored to receive this prestigious award from BOMA,” said Dave Rock, managing senior vice president, Transwestern. “Our management team is passionate about making The Sunset an outstanding asset. Senior Property Manager Pamela Smith and her team consistently go above and beyond to deliver extraordinary experiences for the building tenants and ownership.”
The property is at 8560 W. Sunset Blvd. on world-renowned Sunset Strip in West Hollywood. After undergoing multi-million dollar renovations in 2001 and 2008 which included a new exterior designed by Nadel Architects, the 10-story former Playboy building is now a Class A boutique office tower and home to an eclectic mix of entertainment and technology-related firms.
The Sunset is part of a mixed-use development that includes a 107,000-square-foot retail plaza with premier tenants such as H&M, Equinox, Caffe Primo, and SoulCycle, and an underground, 1,000-car parking garage.
In 2013, the building achieved LEED Gold certification by the U.S. Green Building Council and has been benchmarked by ENERGY STAR for the last three years, achieving a score of 89 in 2015.
