The Kartell by Laufen Bathroom Collection Is Born

Industry Giants Collaborate On Contemporary Bathroom Furniture Collection

MILAN – Kartell, the Italian brand and world leader in the industrial production of furniture and interior design items made of high quality plastic, and Swiss bathroom specialist LAUFEN, one of the world’s leading companies in the production of high-end ceramics for the bathroom, are pleased to announce they have signed an agreement for the design, production and world distribution of a completely new line dedicated to the bathroom under the Kartell by Laufen brand name. The artistic direction for the whole project is entrusted to architects Ludovica+Roberto Palomba, the internationally famous designers and trendsetters for bathroom ware.

The collection was unveiled for the general public at the Salone Internazionale del Mobile di Milano in April to much critical acclaim and the collection will be available to the North American public this fall 2013 through authorized LAUFEN showrooms.

The Kartell by Laufen Bathroom Collection will be completely new bathroom collections developed through the combined synergies of these two internationally respected brands and will be distributed through the LAUFEN retail channels throughout the world. Utilizing LAUFEN’s new SaphirKeramik ceramics and Kartell’s durable plastic products, the Kartell by Laufen collection is a fully developed collection of washbasins, vanities, tubs, shelving, furniture and bathroom accessories.

“Kartell by Laufen is a project based on a common understanding of the two companies about the value of emotions. Emotions and dedication define the novel idea of this bathroom and guided the project throughout the entire development. The same sense of mindfulness to the materials and the same understanding of research and development have made the two companies perfect partners – or, one could say, soul mates," Alberto Magrans, senior managing director LAUFEN.
