Twinsburg, Ohio — Dec. 3, 2015 — Technoform Glass Insulation NA, Inc., a global leader in high-performance, warm edge spacer technology for insulating glass units, is now included in the BSD’s (Building Systems Design) Speclink-E master specification tool for architects and specifiers.
Technoform develops innovative solutions to increase energy efficiency in the building façade. The company designs and manufactures window system components, such as TGI-Spacer, which are used to improve energy efficiency in the building envelope. TGI-Spacer is used in dual and triple pane insulated glass units of commercial, architectural, and residential window applications, including curtain wall and structurally glazed units.
The TGI-Spacer is a unique hybrid spacer system, incorporating a high-performance proprietary polypropylene and low-conductivity stainless steel to provide minimal heat transfer, excellent site-line temperatures, and condensation resistance. The inorganic stainless steel surface allows for excellent sealant adhesion that mitigates the loss of gas leakage and prevents moisture from penetrating the insulating glass unit.

TGI-Spacer was recently used in the Deloitte Tower in Montreal, which features 285,000 square meters of glass. TGI-Spacer was used in both the structural silicone glazed units as well as the spandrel glass application. TGI-Spacer was also installed in Seattle’s Bullitt Centre, named The World’s Greenest Commercial Building by World Architectural News.
