Seaman Corporation introduces Shelter-Rite Brite Architectural Fabrics

Wooster, OH – With a long history of construction industry innovation, Seaman Corporation is proud to announce two major additions to its Architectural Product line.  Shelter-Rite® Architectural fabrics are now available with two high-end topcoats: Kynar® fluoropolymer and Tedlar® fluoropolymer, both in the Shelter-Rite® Brite™ product line.

“Starting with our proven high strength Shelter-Rite® base fabric, we have partnered with two Top 100 chemical giants, Arkema, Inc. and DuPont, respectively. These top coats offer superior weathering, color fastness and cleanability and take the architectural fabric industry to a new level of performance,” states Richard N. Seaman, CEO and Chairman of Seaman Corporation. “Seaman Corporation is the only worldwide provider of architectural fabrics with both of these innovative options.”

In addition to applying these products as protective finishes for architectural fabrics, these materials also have proven performance in other areas of the building envelope, including protective coatings, in both liquid or film forms, beginning in the 1960s.

Seaman Corporation’s leadership in the architectural market also dates back to the mid-1960s with the patented Portomod® framed structure.  Continuing on that experience, Shelter-Rite® architectural fabrics are used to create pre-engineered frame, air-supported and custom engineered tension structures around the world.

Seaman Corporation is a U.S. based coated fabric manufacturer with facilities in Wooster, Ohio, and Bristol, Tennessee, and sales operations in Shanghai, China. With over 60 years of manufacturing experience in the commercial, building, military and environmental industries, Seaman Corporation is innovating further by providing high-end building solutions for architects and designers who demand performance and superior aesthetics.

“We have provided architectural fabrics for over 50 years, and that industry has long sought options with cleanability and color fastness beyond that available in standard PVDF and Acrylic top coats,” states Felon Wilson, Business Director of the Industrial Fabrics Division at Seaman Corporation.  “Because we are fully integrated, we are able to work with major suppliers to produce unique solutions to industry problems. The expanded line of Shelter-Rite® Brite™ represent a broad breakthrough in architectural building solutions.”
