SOPREMA Offers SG SBS-Modified Bitumen Cap Plies for Roofs

Wadsworth, Ohio — Dec. 11, 2014 — It’s no secret that traditional black roofs are known to raise the temperature inside a building, thus increasing a building’s cooling costs. SOPREMA has developed two SBS-modified bitumen membrane solutions to offset this increasingly common building inefficiency: Sopralene SG and Elastophene SG granule cap plies.

Sopralene SG is a polyester-reinforced bright white granule cap ply, while Elastophene SG is a fiberglass-reinforced bright white granule cap ply option.  Both Sopralene SG and Elastophene SG are as durable and long lasting as traditional granule-surfaced roof membranes, while allowing for greater efficiencies and savings in overhead cost.

“SOPREMA has developed two robust product offerings that offset the solar heat gain of a building,” said Sara Jonas, marketing manager, SOPREMA.  “Our team is constantly developing and testing solutions that reduce the human footprint on this earth and help increase building efficiencies.”
