Product Release: Sweep Bedding System by Innovative Textile Solutions
Sweep® developed by, Innovative Textile Solutions announces a complete bedding system that will effectively kill bed bugs and help prevent an infestation. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) registered technology kills bed bugs that remain in contact with Sweep for 24 hours and is designed to contact them where they live.
While the international marketplace has been inundated with fixes for the worldwide bed bug problem the Sweep system is very different than the encasement products on the market that lock bed bugs on the mattress and do not protect the user against any additional bugs that find their way to the bed. Alternatively Sweep is proactive and designed to kill. The mattress pad, mattress bed band and box spring encasement technology have been independently laboratory tested and are a safe, effective and odorless answer to kill bed bugs where they live and breed. The system is 99% chemical free using an active ingredient that is closely related to the naturally occurring chemical in the Chrysanthemum flower. This makes Sweep ideal for use in institutional settings as well as hotels, apartment buildings, college campuses, private homes and anyplace where these bugs may be found.
The Sweep system was developed over a 5 year period by a group of textile experts, entomologists and PHd’s to create a safe and effective way to kill bed bugs. “It is in fact a spinoff of the chemistry currently used by the U.S. Military to protect soldiers in the field from insect born disease”, says Jeffrey Erdheim a 35 year textile veteran and I.T.S. partner. In conjunction with the bedding system, Innovative Textile Solutions has developed and registered a full travel and storage system using the same technology that is now ready for distribution.
“The new system will be a must have for travelers who recognize the danger of bringing bed bugs home and the importance of prevention” states Jeff Goldman of I.T.S, “and will include luggage liners, garment bags, laptop case, under bed storage and laundry bags.”
Bed bugs feed on human blood and a female bed bug is capable of laying up to 500 eggs during the course of its life cycle. The bites are painful as is the stigma associated with an infestation. Sweep systems will protect the user 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and is now available for international distribution.
