Product Release: MaxLite Dimmable LED Downlight Retrofit
WEST CALDWELL, N.J. -- Designed as an energy efficient lighting solution for remodeling or new construction projects, MaxLite introduces a Dimmable LED 6-inch Recessed Downlight Retrofit. MaxLite, a global manufacturer and marketer of energy efficient luminaires and lamps, has designed this retrofit model as a replacement in popular recessed luminaires and trim styles from other leading industry manufacturers.
Ideal for replacing 65-watt BR40 incandescent lamps in recessed fixtures, the new 14-watt Recessed Retrofit offers a 50 to 75 percent reduction in energy costs; end users will enjoy energy savings of $197 over the lifetime of this product. The LED luminaire delivers more than 35,000-hour maintenance-free operation or 8 to 12 years based on eight hours of daily usage, which translates to up to 17 times longer life than incandescent fixtures.
The new LED downlight retrofit delivers uniform color distribution and superior quality lighting, compared to most incandescent and CFL fixtures. The fixture is engineered with a chip array featuring ceramic LED technology, guaranteeing single bin color consistency with enhanced illumination uniformity and minimal glare.

The LED Recessed Retrofit downlight turns on instantly from a cold start without flickering, and dims for pleasant ambient lighting. The luminaire delivers a high light output (more than 600 lumens) and a CRI (color rendering index) rating that is greater than 80. Constructed without any hazardous materials, the fixture provides a cool operation without emitting radiation or heat, while also reducing HVAC costs and maintenance. Both white and nickel finishes are available.
Highlighted in MaxLite’s MaxLED™ family of LED products, the LED 6-inch Recessed Retrofit downlight is compatible with a variety of popular standard incandescent and low voltage electronic dimmers. The 6-inch model is specially designed to fit the industry’s most popular 6-inch recessed fixtures.
The fixture is UL- and cUL-listed, and backed by MaxLite’s 5-year warranty.
