Pella: Company Honored with 2015 ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year — Sustained Excellence Award
For a second time, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has recognized Pella, a leading manufacturer and designer of windows and doors for homes and buildings, with its 2015 ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year - Sustained Excellence Award.
This is the company's eighth selection as an ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year. The EPA Sustained Excellence Award distinguishes its continuing dedication to the development and promotion of energy-efficient products and the education of consumers on conservation issues.
“Continuous improvement is one of Pella’s founding values,” said Bruce Sievers, manager of product engineering. “With ENERGY STAR as a guide, our engineers can review and design customer enhancements into our full breadth of products that protect and conserve natural resources.”
Pella is involved in a variety of ENERGY STAR projects, that helped to gain the Sustained Excellence Award, including:
• Pioneering research, in its third year, on the development of a highly insulating residential window with smart automatic shading in an exclusive partnership with Lawrence Berkeley National Labs.
• Expanding consumer education and outreach on ENERGY STAR through new videos, interactive sales tools, social media, website enhancements, and special events in 2014.
• Making a commitment to improving energy efficiency and reduce landfill volume by embracing the ENERGY STAR Challenge for Industries at four manufacturing sites.
The ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year - Sustained Excellence distinction is reserved for ENERGY STAR partners demonstrating outstanding leadership year after year. Pella’s accomplishments were recognized in Washington, D.C., on April 20.
