Partnership Targets Optimal Heat Transfer

Goodway Technologies, a manufacturer of industrial maintenance and cleaning solutions, is announcing a partnership with SWEP, a supplier of brazed plate heat exchangers for HVAC and industrial applications. The partnership is designed to bring a practical solution for the descaling of SWEP heat exchangers, to help maintain efficiency and optimal heat transfer.

“Preventative maintenance is critical for the efficiency and operation of any water-operated piece of equipment,” says Tim Fregeau, Director of Sales, Liquid Solutions Division, for Goodway Technologies. “This partnership gives customers using SWEP heat exchangers confidence that they have a high-quality product in place with a valuable resource for ongoing clean-in-place solutions.”

SWEP brazed plate heat exchangers transfer energy with high efficiency and minimal thermal loss. When operating in environments where hard water occurs, or with high temperatures, scale deposits from minerals within the water source may fall out of suspension and adhere to the heat transfer surface, creating an insulating barrier. This may have a detrimental impact on the heat exchanger’s performance and efficiency. In addition to efficiency loss, continued scale build can act as a breeding ground for particulate fouling which can result in corrosion issues. Preventative maintenance is the key to maintaining optimal heat exchange efficiency and lengthening the operating lifespan of the heat exchanger.

Goodway’s ScaleBreak-MP effectively and quickly cleans heat exchangers without impacting the long-term integrity of the equipment. ScaleBreak-MP is comprised of a unique blend of corrosion inhibitors, wetting and penetrating agents. The biodegradable descaling solution will safely dissolve scale deposits into a liquid suspension allowing them to be flushed out of brazed plate heat exchangers leaving no residual solution. SWEP has tested and verified the compatibility of ScaleBreak-MP with their products and found them completely safe.

“SWEP and Goodway both understand the value of investing in proper maintenance and the impact it can have on overall operations and efficiency,” says Adam Dahlquist, Business Development Manager of SWEP. “We’re looking forward to this joint effort to make it easy for our customers to find efficient, safe and reliable maintenance solutions.”

In addition to descaling liquids, Goodway offers a variety of pumping systems to aid in the transfer of ScaleBreak-MP throughout the heat exchanger to increase descaler performance and speed up operation.
