Overhead Crane Warning LED Spotlight Honored For Innovation

Keytroller's overhead crane warning LED spotlight, The FOREWARNER-MAXI, has won Material Handling Product News’ prestigious Products of the Year Reader’s Choice Award.

According to Material Handling Product News, the award honors the achievements of companies for advances in materials handling systems and equipment within manufacturing, distribution centers and warehouses. Readers decided the winners with over 1,200 votes cast.

FOREWARNER-MAXI's overhead crane warning LED spotlight was developed to improve pedestrian awareness and operator control of hook and load.

“We are so very honored to be recognized by Material Handling Product News,” says Terry Wickman, president of Keytroller. “The FOREWARNER-MAXI provides an inexpensive, potentially life-saving solution, easily paying for itself with a single prevented accident.”

About the FOREWARNER-MAXI

Industrial plants have forklifts, heavy equipment, personal carriers and overhead cranes busily working with operators of these machines concentrating mainly on the load being handled and their job at hand. Operators are frequently multitasking and in a hurry to complete their material handling task. Pedestrian workers are also busy doing their job in the same proximity as these material handling machines - major safety hazards in play.

Built with die-cast aluminum to withstand the toughest environments, the FOREWARNER-MAXI focuses on pedestrian safety by projecting a solid white, blue or red tightly focused spotlight on the floor that alerts pedestrians to the hook’s location. In addition, the spotlight aids precise positioning for crane operators by providing a framing reference between the floor and hook.

A clip-on lens cover is available that transforms the spotlight into a line-light on the floor below. Many crane operators prefer the line-light for additional load control.

The energy efficient FOREWARNER-MAXI features LED lights, produced by CREE in the United States. The product’s 10 foot cable connects to inputs of 12, 24, 36 or 48 volts of direct current. The mounting bracket is adjustable 150 degrees up or down, allowing for precise positioning.

Keytroller is an I.D. Systems company and industry leader as a designer, manufacturer and supplier of electronic safety and weighing devices.
