Nora Lighting: Cobalt Series Expands LED Recessed Downlight Offerings

Commerce, Calif. — March 30, 2015 — Nora Lighting expands its LED recessed downlight offerings with the Cobalt Series, a cULus-wet listed retrofit fixture for use in existing IC or non-IC housings manufactured by Nora and others. Cobalt is available in 4-, 5-, and 6-inch apertures and has a 1000-lumen output.

Cobalt downlights include Cree’s latest COB family of LED arrays, delivering brighter illumination and lower power consumption. The units have a high 95 CRI (color rendition index), which allows the fixtures to more realistically reveal colors similar to a natural light source.

The 1000-lumen output uses only 16 watts and offers color temperatures at 2700K, 3000K, and 4000K. The fixtures are dimmable and include a medium base socket for easy retrofitting.

The lighting unit, with Unitized Thermal Management system, has a thick die-cast aluminum plate to dissipate LED board heat and separates the heat from driver.

An aluminum spun trim has deep-set diffused lens for visual comfort, and reflector or baffle trim styles are available. A smaller overall height makes the Cobalt easy to install. The fixture is Energy Star rated and Title 24 compliant.

Nora Lighting has been at the forefront in the development and introduction of LED fixtures for residential and commercial applications. Along with LED fixtures, Nora manufactures incandescent, fluorescent, and HID sources in track and rail systems, recessed lighting, multiple lighting systems, and under cabinet, and an expanding series of accent lights, including pendants and sconces.
