NEMA: Association Publishes ANSI Standard for Roadway and Area Lighting Equipment—Luminaire Attachments

Rosslyn, Va. — May 21, 2015 — The National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) published ANSI C136.3-2014 American National Standard for Roadway and Area Lighting Equipment—Luminaire Attachments.

This standard covers attachment features of luminaires used in roadway and area lighting equipment. The features covered apply to luminaires that are side-, post-top, or pendant-mounted.

ANSI C136.3 was developed by ANSI Accredited Standards Committee (ASC) 136, and is useful to roadway and area lighting manufacturers, municipalities, and utilities. Improvements from the previous edition include added requirements for pendant-mounted luminaires, updated references, and document reorganization for reading ease.

ANSI C136.3-2014 may be downloaded or purchased in hard copy for $35 on the NEMA website, www.NEMA.org.

The National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) represents nearly 400 electrical, medical imaging, and radiation therapy manufacturers.
