MaxLite's Versatile Eight-Inch Commercial Downlight Retrofits Receive ENERGY STAR Certification

West Caldwell, New Jersey – To help meet today’s stringent energy code standards for architectural projects in the residential, commercial and architectural market segments, the MaxLite® Eight-Inch Commercial Downlight Retrofits have received ENERGY STAR® certification and can achieve up to $60 in utility rebates.

“Our versatile eight inch Commercial Downlight Retrofits are now ENERGY STAR qualified and listed for use with many nationally branded downlight housings,” said Vice President of Product Marketing and Engineering Pat Treadway. “Ideal for all non-IC, high ceiling applications, the retrofits deliver high quality light and substantial efficiencies which translate into savings by requiring fewer fixtures and lower watts per square foot, while still providing a well-illuminated space.”

Easy to install and access for maintenance, the retrofits feature an innovative patent-pending quick-connect case, which enables a convenient four-step installation process. Installers simply make the line voltage connection through a short piece of flexible conduit attached to the retrofit’s quick connect case, connect this piece to the LED engine and reflector, and install the retrofit into the existing frame kit with pressure clips.

The versatile Eight-Inch Commercial Downlight Retrofits are available in 26- and 34-watt models that operate with Philips LUXEON® K array and emit light equivalent up to two 26-watt PL lamps. MaxLite’s downlights are designed with an integral driver mounted to the heat sink for thermal control. The retrofit is supplied with a universal voltage (120 to 277) power supply, enabling the use of one product for most commercial applications.

The retrofit comes standard with a standard 80-degree flood beam angle for general lighting, and other ambient lighting applications.

A ¾-inch trim ring is supplied, while optional 1¼-inch goof rings and baffle rings are available. Additional reflectors are available in four-, six- and nine-inch configurations.

The new downlights join the company’s ever-growing list of ENERGY STAR qualified products, including 4- and 6-inch LED Downlights, LED Security Light and the LED Round Flat Panel Pendant.
