Lonza Helps Customers Navigate Through EPA's Quat Data Call In (DCI)
Allendale, N.J. — Feb. 27, 2015 — Lonza’s portfolio of approved actives and formulations, as well as its regulatory expertise, can help hygiene and cleaning industry customers navigate several major U.S. EPA regulatory actions, beginning with the Quat Generic Data Call In (GDCI) for Alkyl Dimethyl Benzyl Ammonium Chloride (ADBAC), issued in December 2014. That review is soon to be followed by the Product Data Call In (PDCI) for the end-use formulations based on the same chemistry. The same process will shortly follow for Didecyl Dimethyl Ammonium Chloride (DDAC) and end-use formulations for that chemistry.
“Supplemental and primary disinfectant and sanitizer registration holders should be asking themselves two questions,” said Craig Carter, North American marketing manager, hygiene, Lonza Consumer Care. “They should ask ‘What does all this mean to me?’ and ‘How will it impact my capability to continue to sell my quat-based disinfectants and sanitizers?’”
Carter pointed out that “Lonza has been preparing for the formal release of the Quat DCI for several years, so we are well positioned to assist by providing a comprehensive product portfolio that will be supported through the DCI, a pipeline of new products and innovations, and new offerings as upgrades to current products.”
Lonza’s new, interactive website for customers, www.survivethequatdci.com, can help customers find a clear path through the DCI. Helpful tools for formulation selection and further details about Lonza’s supported and non-supported formulations are available online, as well as alternates identified for non-supported registrations.
A key part of Lonza’s Consumer Care business unit, the Hygiene business offers the broadest portfolio of registered actives, preservatives, and formulations for use in disinfectants, sanitizers, and institutional and household cleaning products. This wide range of solutions is used to disinfect and sanitize schools, food processing plants, restaurants, grocery stores, hospitals, homes, and more.
