JM Electrical and New England Trane Complete Control System Project at Ashburnham Westminster Regional School District

JM Electrical Company, Inc., a provider in advanced automated building system installations, today announced that it has completed project operations at the Ashburnham Westminster Regional School District, a public school system located in North Worcester County, approximately 50 miles northwest of Boston. The system was done under a performance contract with New England Trane, a provider in HVAC systems, services and solutions.

JM Electrical installed the power and controls for the HVAC equipment, provided by Trane, for two schools in the district—Oakmont High School and Overlook Middle School—in order to achieve energy savings for the buildings. The company’s electricians worked to ensure the project was completed on time and on budget. JM began work on the schools in June 2016, and they are now fully operational.

“We were pleased to work with the Ashburnham Westminster school system in upgrading their HVAC controls,” John Guarracino, project manager at JM Electrical, said. “We are always happy to provide school systems with the tools they need to operate more efficiently and create a more comfortable learning environment for both the students and teachers.”

The Ashburnham Westminster school district has a mission to prepare its students as contributing citizens for local and global societies in an ever-changing world. Oakmont Regional High School and Overlook Middle School, due to the new HVAC power and controls installed by JM Electrical, will now operate in a more energy efficient manner and, in turn, experience minimized energy costs.

“With no capital outlay by the district, the team delivered over $4 million in needed facility upgrades including a new roof, HVAC equipment, a biomass boiler fueled by wood pellets and a state of the art building automation system. In addition, Trane guarantees energy savings exceeding $5 million over the 20 year term enabled by M.G.L. CH25a, 11i, which will be used by the district to pay for the project,” Chris Marshall, General Manager of Energy Services at New England Trane, said. “We were able to accomplish these goals with ease working with the veteran team at JM Electrical.”

JM Electrical has more than 30 years of experience and expertise in the installation of advanced control and automation systems, and has completed multiple large-scale installations at developments in the Greater Boston area recently. Among these are Northeastern University’s Interdisciplinary Science & Engineering Complex, Boston University’s Center for Integrated Life Sciences & Engineering, and Harvard Memorial Church.

New England Trane serves the states of Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire and Rhode Island with industry leading and highly efficient air conditioning systems, services and solutions. The company serves major commercial vertical markets including higher education, healthcare, commercial real estate, retail, hospitality and more.
