Hy-Brid Lifts' PS-1930

Hy-Brid Lifts, a provider of low-level access equipment, brings lightweight technology to the 19-foot lift market with the introduction of the brand-new Pro Series PS-1930. The 19-foot scissor lift, the tallest model in the Hy-Brid line, offers unique features such as non-fold-down rails and the company’s innovative LeakGuard™ system. The new lift meets ANSI A92.20 standards that will go into effect March 2020. The PS-1930 will feature a new color scheme to identify Hy-Brid Lifts’ A92.20-compliant lifts, with other models following suit as they meet new standards.

With a platform height of 19 feet and a working height of 25 feet, the PS-1930 is an effective lift for a wide variety of uses including construction, maintenance and other applications. The lift provides additional height to users while still offering the same versatile characteristics that have become hallmarks of Hy-Brid Lifts.

“Everything people love about Hy-Brid Lifts is now available in an even taller machine,” said Terry Dolan, Hy-Brid Lifts president & CEO. “While many projects can be accomplished with a 10- or 14-foot lift, the benefits of a 19-foot lift are undeniable. In fact, years of studies have shown that 85% of access work can be accomplished with a shorter lift, yet the 19-foot market remains the most popular product segment. Customers were asking for a taller lift, so we delivered. To enter this arena, we were adamant that our product would not be another ‘me too’ product but rather something different than any other on the market. We delivered with the unique lightweight design of the PS-1930.”

With the new A92.20 standard, the railing heights are increasing. This is causing manufactures to incorporate folding rails in order to fit through standard doors. Hy-Brid’s unique approach allows the PS-1930 to fit through standard doors without fold-down rails, allowing contractors to efficiently move to the next location without wasting time to perform the extra steps of folding down the rails and setting them back up once in place. The lift is also lightweight and compact enough to fit in standard elevators, meaning more access for users on a variety of jobsites. The compact size and maneuverability of the PS-1930 reflects Hy-Brid Lifts’ commitment to helping contractors increase productivity by being the first lift on and the last lift off a jobsite.

The lift will debut Hy-Brid Lifts’ latest innovation: LeakGuard. This fluid containment system integrates with the PS-1930 to allow for 110% hydraulic fluid containment. The system provides users with a simpler alternative to inconvenient methods such as diapers or other manufacturers’ multi-tray systems. Hy-Brid Lifts have always featured only two hydraulic connection points, which greatly minimize the risk of any hydraulic leakage. Although spills or leaks are highly unlikely, LeakGuard will give users peace of mind knowing their flooring is completely protected from hydraulic fluid spillage. The system integrates easily into the unit, making it easy to check for leaks. All Pro Series lifts will come LeakGuard ready, with the option for users to add the pan and pad when they order, or to order it in the future.

“LeakGuard is just one of the features we added to meet customer requests,” Dolan said. “We took feedback from existing customers and made changes to our lifts to make them ideal. Recessed charging receptacles, a tougher step for tie-down and a key switch that defaults to upper controls are a few other additions that make the PS-1930 the best in the industry. We also made improvements to scissor stability and improved the steering. These changes may seem small, but they affect the operator on a daily basis, so every improvement is significant.”

The PS-1930 will be rated for indoor and outdoor use, making it the first lift from Hy-Brid Lifts certified for outdoor use. The unit incorporates new upper controls that allow users to switch between indoor and outdoor modes. This program setting is pre-determined with an indoor setting that allows for full elevation, and an outdoor setting that restricts the elevation height. The outdoor option is rated for use at a maximum wind speed of 28 mph. This indoor/outdoor option increases safety for the operator, and provides contractors access to more jobs.

With safety and user comfort in mind, the PS-1930 features the lowest step-in height in the industry, requiring only one step to enter the platform. The step-in height is up to 10 inches lower than comparable models in its class, which means more comfort and ease-of-use for operators.

The lift features an industry-leading capacity of 650 pounds and is rated for one person plus materials. The PS-1930 is 69.5 inches long and 30 inches wide, with a stowed height of 74.5 inches tall, making it compact for storage and shipping. The platform is 60 inches long by 24 inches wide, with a 30-inch slide-out platform extension, which provides plenty of working space. The lift weighs less than 2,000 pounds, which is a fraction of competitive models’ weight. This allows contractors to comply with trailer weight restrictions, making it easier to get more lifts to a jobsite in one trip.

The PS-1930 features new larger wheels and tires. The 4-inch-by-12-inch wheels provide more ground coverage while offering a low wheel load pressure.

All Hy-Brid Lifts are heavy-duty, safe and lightweight, with low wheel loads that allow users to maneuver them over delicate floors and get onto green concrete sooner. They are USA-made with high-grade steel, and all feature non-marking tires with a low step-in height. All lifts are covered by a two-year parts and labor warranty and a five-year structural warranty.
