Green Glue To Be Featured On Designing Spaces Airing On Lifetime

Granville, NY – Saint-Gobain Performance Plastics is pleased to announce that its popular Green Glue Noiseproofing Compound and Sealant will be featured in an upcoming segment of Designing Spaces which airs on Lifetime Television. The segment, titled “Yours, Mine and Ours,” is set to premiere on February 16, 2012 at 7:30 a.m. ET/PT.

The “Yours, Mine and Ours” segment stars a couple, each of whom is in their second marriage, with combined families. The two-income household is experiencing a high noise level coming from their laundry room which is inconveniently located next to their daughter’s bedroom. This time-stretched working couple is forced to do laundry in the evening, disrupting parents and children alike.

During the course of the segment, Green Glue acoustical specialist, Adam Burnett helps the couple apply the noiseproofing compound and sealant on the laundry room wall that is adjacent to their daughter’s room.

Integral to the segment is a clear demonstration of the ease with which DIYers can apply Green Glue’s Noiseproofing System and its noise-transmission efficacy.

The couple divides the work equally between them and quickly completes the job with the husband applying Compound to the dry wall, and the wife then using Sealant to cover up any cracks along the edges. At the project’s conclusion they are both pleased with the drop in noise and elect to continue to noiseproof the remaining walls in the laundry as well as other rooms to alleviate noise concerns.

“We are delighted to partner with Lifetime to showcase the effectiveness of our two flagship Green Glue technologies at helping to eliminate noise,” says Steve Jette, Marketing Manager, Saint-Gobain Performance Plastics. “The Green Glue Noiseproofing Compound and Sealant can both be incorporated systematically into any home to substantially reduce noise transmission between rooms, improving quality of life.”

Designing Spaces is a half-hour informative series produced by O2 Media Inc. that inspires and instructs viewers on the smartest ways to improve their homes. The program, which travels all over the country redefining and redesigning spaces, is a trusted name in home remodeling, home decorating, and home design. Each episode explores topics and home trends that inspire viewers to take on their home improvement challenges and decorating dilemmas.

Green Glue Noiseproofing Compound is a viscoelastic product that significantly dampens noise transmission by converting sound vibration into small amounts of heat. When applied as a constrained layer between two sheets of drywall, plywood or other building substrate, Green Glue Noiseproofing Compound reduces noise transfer from one room to the next by as much as 90%, including low frequency sounds that are normally resistant to soundproofing. The compound comes in easy-to-dispense tubes that can also be used with caulking guns for quick dispersal.

Green Glue Noiseproofing Sealant plugs up gaps and cracks in walls and ceilings that are easily overlooked but which contribute significantly to noise transfer. When applied along wall and ceiling edges, the sealant can prevent these cracks from leaking noise and help maintain a high level of sound isolation.

DIYers can choose to use any or all of Green Glue’s noiseproofing components depending on the intensity of a noise problem. Individual products can be used easily to address specific noise challenges.
