Global Presence, Local Excellence: Minkels’ Strategy is Getting Results

The data centre infrastructure supplier Minkels, part of the publicly traded company Legrand (NYSE Euronext Paris: LR), has adopted a strategy of ‘global presence, local excellence’. The market is increasingly keen on the worldwide presence of Minkels – and therefore on the same level of quality and availability of its products as well. This strategy is now starting to get results.

Its strategy of ‘global presence, local excellence’ is letting Minkels serve the market better. Christiaan van Terheijden, CEO of Minkels, says, “Thanks to closer cooperation with our Legrand sister companies and other partners, we can achieve more synergy worldwide and therefore create more value for the clients. This means not only that our products will be available internationally, but that they are often used with our partners’ products as part of a total solution. The Legrand sales network has already contributed to excellent local and export results over the last six months.”

Minkels’ own sales activities are becoming increasingly international as well. Mr van Terheijden adds, “We recently delivered an aisle containment solution to MainOne, the key supplier of networking and data centre solutions in western Africa, for instance. And after joining the Node Pole Alliance, we’re now very much active in the Scandinavian market; the global hub for innovations in data traffic and data management. Additionally, we’ve also started assembly and production activities in the US. We’re serving the American market from a location close to New York. Production in China is growing steadily too. We are producing goods in Wuxi for Hitachi Data Systems and others, as well as for other customers from the local Legrand organizations.”

Minkels will be underlining its international pedigree by exhibiting its range of products at several trade fairs worldwide over the next short while. For example, Minkels was present at Com-Ex in Switzerland last week. At the PowerBuilding & Data Center Convention (28‑29 September, Austria) and IP Expo (5-6 October, UK), Minkels will be speaking about the influence that the Internet of Things (IoT) is having on data centre infrastructures. At Datacenter Forum (5 October, Switzerland), Minkels will be presenting its micro data centre solutions. At the beginning of November, Minkels will also be at Datacenter Dynamics (1‑2 November, UK). IT Room Infra (15 November, Netherlands) is the finale of the trade fair season.
