Furniture Maker Expands Finishing Options

Cumberland Furniture, manufacturer of modern American furniture designs, has added to its range of painted metal finishes with four new powdercoats. Applied to stainless steel, all four colors result in a matte finish and various levels of visual depth: Dark Bronze, with the appearance of oil- rubbed bronze; an opaque Black; an understated Silver; and a cool White.

“We sought out these finishes specifically for the Cuff Collection,” says Rob Clark, public relations director for Cumberland Furniture. “That product has a precision- cut patterned metal band for which we wanted to offer many options for personality.” In combination with options for wood, stone, painted glass, solid surface, and textiles or leather for upholstery, these metal finishes multiply the options for personality for tables, stools, and ottomans.

While the Cuff Collection offers them as standard options, the company will also entertain special requests for the use of these four new powdercoat finishes on other products.

“We were pleased to find that these finishes met our quality standards,” Clark says. “Since we wanted to make a broader selection available to the designers we serve.”
