Flooring Maker Recognized For Innovation
nora systems, Inc., a manufacturer of rubber floor coverings, recently received Cradle to Cradle (C2C) v 3.1 Silver Certification for its norament standard floor coverings.
norament standard products achieved C2C Silver certification based on evaluation of the products’ material health, material reutilization, renewable energy, carbon management, water stewardship and social fairness.
“C2C certification demonstrates nora’s commitment to human health, environmental sustainability, and high-performance products,” said Tim Cole, vice president of marketing at nora systems, Inc. “We are extremely proud of this certification, which goes beyond just looking at a product’s ingredients and examines best practices for energy and water stewardship during production as well as the company’s commitment to social equity.”
The norament standard C2C certification applies to standard norament tiles – norament arago, norament grano, and norament satura.
The Cradle to Cradle Certified Products Program is an independent, third-party verified multi-attribute and multi-level certification program that certifies products and materials that are developed to respect human and environmental health, designed for future use cycles and utilize clean energy and water throughout the supply chain.
Cradle to Cradle product certification is awarded at five levels (basic, bronze, silver, gold and platinum) with each level imposing a more rigorous set of requirements. The lowest score in any quality category establishes the product’s overall score. Certified products are required to show continuous improvement every two years.
C2Cs qualify for numerous green building rating systems, including LEED v4, WELL and Google Portico. The nora LEED v4 contribution chart and applicable product specific letters have been updated accordingly.
