Eaton Offers Telescopic Chimney with Leading Expansion Capabilities for Data Center Enclosures

Telescopic Chimney Offers Flexible Solution to Enhance Airflow Management and Cooling Efficiency in High-Density Environments

RALEIGH, N.C. … Power management company Eaton has announced the launch of its Telescopic Chimney, the latest in Eaton’s Wright Line product portfolio of rack containment solutions for enhanced airflow management with market-leading expansion capabilities and infinite adjustability within the selected height ranges. Designed to accommodate almost any data center ceiling height, the Telescopic Chimney provides a flexible solution to support a variety of mission-critical applications in high-density data center environments.

Eaton’s Telescopic Chimney is a passive straight duct that is capable of channeling up to 30 kilo watts (kW) of heat exhaust, maximizing cooling efficiency by preventing hotspots, recirculation and remixing, while also eliminating hot aisles within the data center. It directs the hot exhaust air out of the top rear of the enclosure and back to the CRAC units, increasing CRAC unit efficiency. The Telescopic Chimney solution is designed to be compatible with all Eaton Paramount Enclosures and can be retrofitted for existing Paramount installations. Providing a stable and reliable passive system, the Telescopic Chimney requires no electric parts to maintain or monitor.

“The Telescopic Chimney builds on Eaton’s leading turnkey solutions, which are critical in today’s diverse data center environment where efficient power management is key,” said Ed Eacueo, senior manager of product management and engineering, Eaton. “With the tallest chimney extension in the market, coupled with its adaptable range and ability to easily integrate, the Telescopic Chimney provides a flexible solution to reduce energy costs and increase operational efficiency in a variety of data center settings.”

With a 76 inch maximum extension height from the top of the enclosure, Eaton offers the tallest chimney extension designed to cover a wide range of data center infrastructures. The Telescopic Chimney attaches to the enclosure top panel with eight fasteners and can be installed in less than 30 minutes. Eaton service technicians are also available to assist with installation.

The Telescopic Chimney is now available in the Americas with height adjustment options from 12 inches to 76 inches. To learn more about the Telescopic Chimney, visit www.eaton.com/telescopicchimney.
