Distech Controls: Company Partners with Leading Tech Hub, Notman House
Brossard, Quebec, Canada — Oct. 7, 2015 — Distech Controls, an innovation leader in energy management solutions, announced that the company is partnering with one of Canada’s top tech hubs, Notman House.
Operated by the OSMO Foundation, this historic, downtown Montreal building, provides tech startups with flexible office space that promotes networking, community building, and shared learning.
The relationship will be two-fold, with Distech Controls providing ECLYPSE, its award-winning, IP-based building automation solution, to Notman House, and the two organizations jointly holding innovation contests focused on green building technology.
Through this strategic alliance, Notman House will truly become an Internet of Things building with the implementation of Distech Controls’ ECLYPSE Connected IP and Wi-Fi Product Series, and ENVYSION responsive, web-based design and visualization interface.
Through this powerful connectivity, Notman House residents will be provided with leading-edge environmental control, and advanced monitoring and analysis capabilities, further launching this historic building into the future.
The partners will also focus on a number of innovation-focused contests (hackathons) to provide the tech community with the opportunity to tackle specific challenges faced by the building automation and energy management industry. The first joint hackathon presented by Distech Controls, “Total ECLYPSE of the House,” is set to take place early 2016 at Notman House.
“Since its inception in 1995, Distech Controls has successfully maintained its focus on furthering innovation in the building automation and energy management sector,” said Etienne Veilleux, president and CEO, Distech Controls. “Partnering with organizations such as Notman House is a solid demonstration of this commitment, and allows us to take creativity and technology to new heights.”
