Direct Digital Controllers Target Improved Building Connectivity

Cylon Controls has announced the release of new products and solutions, including the highly anticipated CBXi Series of IP-based BACnet direct digital controllers, eXplore an IP-based capacitive touch screen display and AERO-BT, a Variable Air Volume (VAV) mobile balance and testing application.

The CBXi Series will be part of the CB Line of BACnet field controllers introduced by Cylon last year and features the CBXi-8R8 and CBXi-8R8-H main plant controllers that communicate on a BACnet IP Local Area Network. The powerful new controllers are fully programmable using Cylon's programming software CXproHD, and scalable from 16 points to 96 points using Cylon's Field Level eXpansion (FLX) modules. Cylon's CB Line of field controllers and expansion modules feature its patented UniPut technology that allows System Integrators to program UniPut points to take on the personality profile of any point type, creating flexibility and cost efficiency in the deployment of energy management systems. The CBXi Series also support routing for BACnet® MS/TP and localized integration support for both Modbus TCP and Modbus RTU without the use of additional hardware or gateways.

An IP-based capacitive and multi-touch color display, eXplore allows users to quickly and securely access, view and engage with the operating parameters of an entire portfolio of buildings through Cylon's ASPECT or INTEGRA, or it works with a single CBXi controller through the Cylon's SiteGuide application. The eXplore makes management of connected HVAC equipment both intuitive and simple.

AERO-BT is a powerful VAV test and balance commissioning App that supports the Cylon's CBV Series of BACnet® VAV controllers. The intuitive tool is easy to use, drives a VAV to max or min flow setpoint, can override and close dampers, and performs auto calibration by simply entering measured airflow.

The AERO-BT App is available for iOS or Android devices and is available for download through Google Play or the Apple Store.

"Cylon continues to drive innovation in the building automation and controls industry as our talented team of hardware and software engineers develop a complete IP-based platform that forms an end-to-end solution for edge-to cloud data management," said Sean Giblin, Cylon CEO. "We have entered into a new era and are excited to deliver robust and feature-rich products to our growing System Integrator network. The new product releases are a testament to our commitment to excellence and confirm that we are committed to leveraging our full potential to be the best in the industry."
