Company Breaks Ground on 26,500 Square-foot Medical Plaza

C.W. Driver Companies, a builder providing general contracting, construction management and design-build services to companies across California, has broken ground on the construction of Newport Harbor Medical Plaza. The 26,500-square-foot, Class A medical facility features ocean views and striking modern architecture with visibility to highly trafficked Newport Boulevard.

Located at 330 Old Newport Boulevard in Newport Beach, the medical building is in close proximity to Hoag Memorial Presbyterian Hospital Newport Beach – providing patients with convenient access for a variety of medical needs. Completion is scheduled for the fall of 2018.

C.W. Driver Companies affiliate Driver SPG, a division that specializes in shorter completion times for tenant improvement, renovation and new construction projects, is working on the build alongside developer Shaoulian Properties and designer Bundy-Finkel Architects.

“The team at Driver SPG will leverage its industry expertise to bring Dr. Shaoulian’s vision to life with this project, which will accommodate everything from specialty physicians’ practices to surgical services,” says Matt Looyra, senior vice president of Driver SPG. “We are no strangers to building in Newport Beach, and are looking forward to once again working with this incredible community to deliver a best-in-class medical office destination.”

The office spaces will range from 2,000 to 16,500 square feet and offer second floor patio deck amenities, two levels of below-grade parking and gurney accessible elevators.

“More than 10 years in the works, we look forward to having Driver SPG as a trusted partner to bring this project to fruition,” says Dr. Emanuel Shaoulian, owner of Shaoulian Properties. “The facility is designed to accommodate large groups, operating rooms, dialysis, imaging centers and a host of other advanced needs that will be desirable to a wide range of medical practices.”

In addition to Loorya, C.W. Driver Companies project team members include Aimee Siemianowski, vice president of operations; Mike Bolda, senior project manager; Bob Boyle, superintendent and Cole Leslie, senior project engineer.
