Citadel Architectural Products: Company Offers Sophisticated Aesthetics at Competitive Price for Hotel Project
Indianapolis, Ind. — Oct. 30, 2015 — The owner of a new hotel wanted a unique structure, an inviting facility with a high-end look that stood out from the many other ordinary hotel chain buildings along the roadway. The ProCore panel from Citadel Architectural Products offered a clean contemporary look while assisting the owner with meeting his budget.
“A lot of hotels look the same, stucco walls,” said Mike Siemieniec, owner of MS-Architecture in Moorseville, N.C. “The owner of this hotel wanted to make mom and pop feel like they were staying at a classier place with the look of a four-star hotel, so we looked at metal options. I’ve works with Citadel Architectural Products through the years and it was the right choice for this job.”
The Brooks hotel in Williston, N.D., is a four-story, 102-room hotel facility with brick walls at the first-floor level. The top three floors are covered with about 25,000 square feet of ProCore panels from Citadel in three different PVDF colors: Gun Metal for the main field of the wall panels; Silver Metallic above the windows; and Statuary Bronze under the windows, striped the length of each wall. The prefinished architectural panels featured a smooth skin.
ProCore is a composite panel made by laminating either textured or smooth prefinished aluminum skins to a core of high-density polypropylene. A second aluminum skin is added as a backer and provides balance. ProCore panels are ideal for applications where appearance is key.
Champion Commercial Structures of Troy, Mich., was the general contractor on the project and headed up the installation of the ProCore panels with two-piece moldings. Moldings are offered as a batten (or raised) connection or the reveal system used on The Brooks.
“It looks great,” said Bill Routsong, project manager for Champion Commercial Structures. “It was the first time we worked with Citadel products so we had to be a little careful. There was a learning curve, but we got better as the project progressed.”
Siemieniec said the owner is pleased with how the project turned out.
“It’s a clean look,” Siemieniec said. “I think we delivered what they wanted: a high-end look at a competitive price.”
