Battery Operated Mower Can Boost Productivity

WORX has launched two new, lightweight and highly maneuverable, cordless lawnmowers: the WORX 40V MAX 17 in. Lawnmower and WORX 20V MAX 14 in Lawnmower. Both yard machines are packed with MAX lithium-ion cutting power, plus patented Intellicut torque-on-demand technology, single-lever cutting height adjustment and efficient mulching/bagging capabilties.

The new 40V MAX, 17 in. Lawnmower has plenty of muscle to keep a small to medium-sized yard perfectly manicured. It’s powered by two, removable, 40V, 2.0 Ah, lithium-ion batteries and cuts up to 5,500 sq. ft. per charge, which is about the size of two regulation tennis courts.

This cordless push mower features Intellicut, the exclusive WORX torque-on-demand system that maintains constant cutting efficiency by electronically monitoring the need for torque. Sensors adjust to higher torque for thicker grass and reduce torque automatically when it’s no longer needed to handle everyday mowing conditions.

The WORX 40V lawnmower weighs only 38.5 lbs. The handle collapses, so it’s handy to keep in a garage corner or store under a workshop table.

Another convenient feature is single-lever cutting height adjustment that provides six positions ranging from 1½ to 3½ in. This enables homeowners to quickly set the right mowing height for the type of grass, season and growing conditions.

The 2-in-1 mower’s sturdy, 17-in. deck assures even cuts and superior mulching or bagging results. Its 8.7-in.-high rear wheels make it easy to maneuver around trees, shrubs, flower beds and other obstacles.

Instead of yanking a pull cord, the homeowner just needs to squeeze the bale and press the starter switch of the cordless mower. With no more need for gas, oil and engine tune-ups, the only maintenance requirements are keeping the mulching blade sharpened, cleaning the underside of the deck and caring for the removable batteries. This neighbor-friendly mower is 75 percent quieter than most gas mowers. It also adds no emissions to the atmosphere.

The ergonomic mower features a foam-padded comfort handle with two adjustable positions. Two 40V Max batteries are located in the mower’s housing and are removable for charging (2 hours) or storage. A pushbutton indicator on the battery shows its current charge level.

The 40V mower includes two, 40V MAX 2.0 Ah batteries, a 2 hour charger, mulch insert plug and 1.1 bushel grass bag. The WORX 40V MAX 17 in. Lawnmower (WG750, $249.99) is available at Walmart and www.worx.com. It is covered by the WORX three-year warranty.

Designed for smaller yards, the new WORX 20V, 14 in. Lawnmower is even lighter weight and more nimble than its 40V, 17 in. big brother. This compact,14 in. mower weighs only 25 lbs, which is less than half as much as most gas mowers. It’s powered by two, removable 20V MAX 4.0 Ah batteries, and cuts lawns up to 1/8 acre on a full charge.

There are no starting hassles, gas and oil to buy or air filter and spark plug to replace. Starting levers are conveniently located on both sides of the handle. Just press the start key, squeeze the lever and the quiet, emission-free cordless mower is on its way.

The battery-powered mower comes with a mulching blade, and its 2-in-1 mower deck allows mulching or rear bagging of grass clippings. Single-lever, deck-height adjustment raises or lowers the mower deck from 2 to 3 ½ in. A .85-bushel grass bag with a full-load indicator and oversized carrying handle for easy emptying is included.

The ergonomically designed mower features a foam-padded, fold-down handle. When the handle is fully collapsed, the compact mower can be stored in a corner or under a work table.

Standard equipment includes two, 20V MAX 4.0 Ah batteries, dual-port, four-hour charger, mulch insert plug, and rear grass bag. Batteries are easy to remove from the mower deck for charging, storage or use in other compatible WORX cordless tools. The 20V MAX 4.0 Ah batteries are part of the WORX 20V Power Share program and are interchangeable with a wide range of WORX lawn and garden and DIY tools.
