Back-Painted Glass Offers Improved Aesthetics

AGC Glass North America announces a new portfolio of back-painted decorative glass, comprised of two product families: an interior and exterior temperable back-painted decorative glass, and an interior back-painted decorative glass.

Interior and Exterior Temperable Back-Painted
Lacobel® T is float glass that is painted on one side with a high-quality temperable paint to create a glossy finish.

Matelac T is acid-etched float glass that is painted on one side with a high-quality temperable paint to create a satin finish.

Together, Lacobel T and Matelac T seamlessly combine glossy and satin finishes for interiors and exteriors, enabling designers to play with contrasting finishes for a wide variety of applications. Each features an attractive palette of 10 colors, based on the latest design trends.

In addition, both products are true enameled glass after tempering — they can be immediately cut and tempered by fabricators at their plant, simplifying the production process and accelerating delivery times, while delivering a consistent finish from one project to the next.

Interior Back-Painted
Lacobel® is annealed float glass that is painted on one side with a high-quality paint to create a glossy finish that is ideal for interior applications.

Matelac is annealed acid-etched float glass that is painted on one side with a high-quality paint to create a satin finish that is ideal for interior applications.

The Lacobel and Matelac family of products enhance architects’ and designers’ interior design visions with endless imaginative applications of sleek, decorative glass. Each product boasts an attractive palette of 20 contemporary colors, with 14 colors in common to both finishes, enabling designers to play with combinations shade-by-shade.

Possibilities with Back-Painted Glass
Back-painted decorative glass is used in a wide range of interior and exterior applications. The Lacobel T and Matelac T family of products are ideal for everything from building facades and wall cladding to cabinetry, kitchen backsplashes, and tabletops — anywhere it is important to have a tempered product that withstands thermal shock and is durable and resilient to impacts and scratching. The Lacobel and Matelac family of products are ideal for interior applications, such as wall coverings, furniture, partitions, and sliding doors — anywhere that requires a clean, sleek look with stylish color.

Both the Lacobel T and Matelac T family and the Lacobel and Matelac family of products are produced using high-quality environmentally friendly low-VOC paints. The portfolio is Cradle to Cradle Certified Silver.
