BOMA International Elects 2016-2018 Executive Committee Members
The Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) International elected six Executive Committee members at the 2016 BOMA International Conference & Expo in Washington, D.C., in late June.
BOMA International’s Executive Committee is responsible for developing the strategic direction and policies for the association. Executive Committee members work with BOMA International officers and executive staff to maximize the effectiveness of BOMA International, while ensuring resources are available to achieve its goals. Executive Committee members serve a minimum term of two years.
The Board of Governors of BOMA International elected the following individuals to the Executive Committee:
· William Cates, National Accounts Team Leader at Kimberly-Clark Professional* (Associate Member)
· Shelby J. Christensen, Senior Vice President of Real Estate Operations, Liberty Property Trust, BOMA/Philadelphia (Second term)
· Randal Froebelius, P.Eng., President and General Manager at Equity ICI Real Estate Services Inc., BOMA/Toronto
· Richard Kenwood, CRX, CPM, CSM, RPA, FMA, General Manager at Madison Marquette, BOMA/Philadelphia
· William F. Moebius, BOMA Fellow, RPA, CPM, CCIM, LEED AP, Senior Vice President and Regional Director of Property Management and Director of Sustainability, Peloton Commercial Real Estate, BOMA/Dallas
· Coleen Spratt, General Manager at CommonWealth Partners, BOMA/Seattle-King County (Second term)
Bill Cates has more than two decades of experience in the building services industry. In his current role as senior manager team leader for National Accounts at Kimberly-Clark Professional*, Cates oversees a team that services commercial real estate customers across the country. Cates has been engaged with BOMA at the local, regional and international level for nearly twenty years, advocating for greater participation with BOMA among Kimberly-Clark Professional*’s team in both the United States and Canada. He also has been actively involved in Kimberly-Clark Professional*’s Cornerstone Partnership with BOMA for the past nine years.
Shelby Christensen has more than 20 years of industry experience. She is senior vice president of Real Estate Operations for Liberty Property Trust, where she is responsible for the management of more than 100 million square feet of office, flex and industrial real estate throughout the United States and United Kingdom. Christensen currently serves as the chair of BOMA International’s National Advisory Council, and she previously served as co-chair of the Industrial Committee and as a member of the Education Advisory Council. She received BOMA International’s prestigious Chair’s Award in 2015. This will be Christensen’s second term on the BOMA International Executive Committee.
With more than 25 years of experience in property management, leasing, project management and construction, Randal Froebelius currently serves as the president and general manager of Equity ICI Real Estate Services, a property management firm based in Toronto. Prior to founding Equity ICI, Froebelius led property operations for the Kolter Property Company, where he was responsible for a large commercial office real estate portfolio in Toronto and Dallas. He serves as the immediate past chair of BOMA Canada, and he previously served as chair of BOMA/Toronto. Froebelius also serves as a member of BOMA International’s Floor Measurement Standards Committee.
Richard Kenwood has more than 25 years of experience in commercial real estate, and he currently serves as general manager for Madison Marquette. In this role, he is responsible for managing Madison Marquette’s New Jersey and Philadelphia high street portfolios. He is the immediate former chair of BOMA/Philadelphia, where he also served as vice chair, treasurer and secretary and on the board of directors for three years. He also has been involved in a number of BOMA International committees, including the Finance Committee, Asset Management Committee, Preparedness Committee, Energy and Environment Committee and Audit Committee, which he currently chairs.
As the senior vice president and regional director of Property Management and the director of Sustainability for Peloton Commercial Real Estate, Bill Moebius oversees more than eight million square feet of primarily office space. An active member of BOMA for more than two decades, Moebius is a former president of both BOMA/Dallas and the BOMA Southwest Region, and he served on the Texas BOMA board of directors for six years. He is a former chair of BOMA International’s Energy and Environment Committee and Building Codes and Voluntary Standards Committee.
As general manager with CommonWealth Partners, Coleen Spratt is responsible for the oversight of the company’s Pacific Northwest portfolio, which consists of Class-A, high-rise office buildings. One of her properties, the Russell Investments Center in Seattle, Washington, won an International TOBY Award in 2013. She has chaired the BOMA International State Government Affairs Committee and actively participates in BOMA’s advocacy efforts on the national, state and local level. Spratt also is a member of BOMA International’s Industry Defense Fund Oversight Committee. She also served as chair of BOMA/Seattle-King County and serves on the local association’s Board of Directors. This will be Spratt’s second term on the BOMA International Executive Committee.
