3-1 Trimmer Offers Improved Versatility

The new WORX 20V GT Revolution Trimmer/Edger/Mini-Mower is the most fully-featured string trimmer WORX has ever sold. When the first GT Trimmer came out 12 years ago, little did they know it would evolve into one of the most popular trimmers selling more than three million units.

“What separates the GT Trimmer from other trimmers in the marketplace is its combination of features, ergonomics, innovation and value,” said Brandon Martin, WORX Senior Product Manager. “Many of the GT Revolution’s features are a direct result of customer feedback.”

WORX 20V GT Revolution Customer feedback led to a longer shaft to accommodate users who are either 5 ft. 3 in. or 6 ft. 3 in. In fact, the overall trimmer is a foot longer than the original GT Trimmer. The telescoping adjustment makes it easier to match the operator’s height and posture for comfortable trimming, especially during extended use periods.

Customers also wanted easy access to replacement line, so a pre-wound cartridge spool and holder is attached directly to the trimmer’s shaft. This eliminates hunting for backup cartridges when they are needed.

Another feature that sets the GT trimmer apart is Command Feed. When using a grass trimmer, most line depletion occurs during edging. Once the line makes contact with hard surfaces, such as concrete or asphalt, it can shred and deplete the line. WORX developed a line-feed method, called Command Feed that advances trimmer line instantly. No more bump feed or waiting for line to advance before cutting. With Command Feed, the user electronically controls when to feed more line.

And unlike ordinary trimmers, the shaft of the GT trimmer ratchets from 0 to 90°. This exclusive feature allows users to trim in hard-to-reach areas such as beneath decks, shrubs and other obstructed areas. It is the only grass trimmer on the market with this feature.

This 3-in-1 trimmer/edger/mini-mower is a powerful grass trimmer, a precision edger, and a mini-mower – all in one. Its twist-and-edge feature easily converts the trimmer into a wheeled, walk-behind edger for edging driveways, sidewalks, walkways and patios.

Switching to the mini-mower is quick and easy. When the wheels are fastened to the trimmer’s shroud, they are 3 in. off the ground, which is considered optimum cutting height for mowing. The mini-mower is handy when trimming between bushes, beneath picnic tables, narrow strips of grass between homes, berms, ditches and other hard-to-reach areas. When the wheels are not in use, they are removable.

Balanced, lightweight and highly maneuverable, the GT Revolution has an adjustable front-assist handle with a smooth soft wraparound grip for comfort and control.

The WORX GT Revolution has a 12 in. cutting swath and an adjustable metal spacer guard to help keep the trimmer’s line from cutting into sensitive areas such as flower beds, tree trunks, lawn ornaments and other areas. The grass trimmer operates at a no-load speed of 7600 rpm, driving the single durable, line (0.065 in, diameter) through grass, weeds and light brush. There’s no fumbling with line changes. WORX incorporates a quick-change, snap-in spool system and includes two free 1 in. x 10 ft. spools. The company’s Spools for Life program begins once the GT trimmer is registered. The user receives free spools (six at a time) for the life of the tool and only pays for postage.

The WORX 20V GT Revolution Trimmer/Edger/Mini-Mower (WG170, $99.9Lindsay9) includes two, 20V 2.0 Ah MAX Lithium batteries with fuel gauge indicator, one five-hour charger, and three spools of line. The 20V GT Revolution Trimmer/Edger/Mini-Mower (WG170.1, $149.99) also is available with two, 20V 4.0 Ah MAX Lithium batteries for double the runtime, and a two-hour charger.
