IAPMO's 'After COVID-19' webinar series

The International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials (IAPMO) is pleased to announce its upcoming “After COVID-19” webinar series. This free series of webinars, beginning May 13, is being presented to provide useful, practical information in an effort assist in the safer reopening of buildings as COVID-19 “stay-at-home” restrictions are eased. The series is designed to provide jurisdictions, health departments, building owners and managers, and contractors with detailed information and guidance on reopening the various building types.

Different building types have plumbing systems and concerns that are unique to their use and require special consideration to help prevent the negative results that could come from exposure to pathogens that might have flourished during the shutdown. Top-level panelists from throughout the plumbing industry will share their knowledge and advise on potential hazards that may be lurking in the plumbing water distribution systems due to the altered use over the past few months of the pandemic. They will also share tips on what can done to begin opening these buildings and which conditions warrant the services of a qualified professional.

The first webinar in the series will provide a general overview of the issues, what can be done to mitigate them, and which resources are available. The remaining three webinars will drill down into health-care facilities, food and beverage establishments, and general buildings.
