Zweig Group's 2020 ElevateHer Cohort

Zweig Group has announced their 2020 ElevateHer™ cohort, a special task force comprised of individuals with a commitment to promote diversity as a means to combat recruiting and retention challenges in the architectural, engineering, and construction (AEC) industry. This inaugural group will operate as a think tank, developing strategies to help solve the greatest challenge facing the industry, recruiting and retention of the work force.

“We were blown away by the number of applicants for this first of its kind program,” said Jamie Claire Kiser, managing principal, Zweig Group, “We are pleased to have such a diverse 2020 cohort with a member distribution that will help bring in perspectives from a variety of demographics, experiences, and sectors.”

All individuals, regardless of age, experience, gender, background, or job role, were welcome and encouraged to apply. The program kicks off with the ElevateHer™ Class of 2020, a cohort-style annual program designed to define key strategies and provide open-sourced, accessible action plans to tackle diversity and its role in recruiting and retention issues. Results from the 2020 class will be presented at a special ElevateHer™ Symposium, on September 30, 2020, a pre-conference to Zweig Group’s annual conference Elevate AEC 2020 in Denver, CO.

“This program is about solving a problem felt industrywide, recruiting and retention of the work force, something that is forecasted to only get worse” said Chad Clinehens, Zweig Group President and CEO. ”The commitment of this cohort to embrace, promote, and ensuring equal opportunities for everyone in the AEC industry will help us solve this problem and thus help us Elevate the Industry.”

The program’s founding patrons include SGA Design Group, Forensic Analytical, CORE, JQ Engineering, and McAdams.  Funds raised through patronage will be used to financially support program initiatives so that finances are not a barrier to program participation.
