Cooling Tower Receives Professional Certification

SPX Cooling Technologies, Inc., announces that the Marley CP fiberglass, induced draft, counterflow cooling tower has received certification from the Cooling Technology Institute (CTI).

The Marley CP Cooling Tower is uniquely designed for space- and sound-sensitive applications. It features a corrosion- and chemical-resistant fiberglass reinforced polyester (FRP) outer structure with an internal steel substructure. It can be fully factory assembled, partially assembled, or shipped fully knock-down for on-site assembly.

Tower selections offer 13 different box sizes with a cooling capacity from 48 to 1865 m3/hr (210 to 8210 gpm) and a maximum thermal capacity of 6664 kW (1516 nominal tons) per cell at standard CTI conditions. A wide range of heat transfer fill media accommodates clean-to-very dirty water applications. Designed for the stringent requirements of industrial markets, the tower can withstand water temperatures up to 80oC (176oF). Structural components of the Marley CP Cooling Tower are designed in accordance to Eurocode 3 for steel structures (DIN EN 1993 together with its German national Annex).

All models feature an integral gear drive system and are available with low-sound fan options. Triple-pass honeycomb air inlet louvers help prevent sunlight from entering the basin area – to discourage microbial growth including Legionella bacteria, minimize icing in cold weather and reduce water loss from splash-out. Towers can be installed with either an integrated FRP or concrete cold water basin. Multi-cell towers can be installed in-line or in back-to-back configurations.
