Company Recognized For Jobsite Safety Solutions
Triax Technologies, Inc., a provider of technology for the connected jobsite, announced that it has been named Health and Safety Solution of the Year from the New York City Construction Awards (NYCCA), held in conjunction with the New York Build Expo.
“We’re proud to be recognized by the NYCCA for our contribution to bringing innovative safety technology to the construction industry,” says Chad Hollingsworth, CEO and co-founder, Triax Technologies. “We built Spot-r to give workers and contractors the tools and data they need to build safer and smarter, and it’s rewarding to see our system adding real value.”
Spot-r’s proprietary mesh network and sensor technology gives general contractors and safety personnel total digital visibility into worker and equipment location, activity and safety. The Spot-r Clip, worn by every worker on a project, automatically picks up the Spot-r network on site, documenting time-in and time-out and location. The system sends automatic fall event, unauthorized equipment operator, or worker-generated notifications to designated supervisors, helping to improve injury response time by up to 91 percent.
In an event that requires evacuation, superintendents can activate an evacuation alarm to each worker’s wearable device, which can be amplified by 100-decibel, flashing Spot-r EvacTags placed around the jobsite.
Prior to Triax Technologies’ Spot-r solution, construction firms lacked comprehensive, data-driven visibility into site operations and safety incidents. With increasingly complex projects and a transient workforce, manual safety identification, documentation, and response methods, such as visual safety checks or air horns to signal an emergency, cannot keep up with the demands of a modern construction site.
“We’re proud to recognize and celebrate the companies transforming the construction industry during the largest design and construction expo for New York City and New York state,” says Abigail Jackson-Houlston, event director. “Congratulations to this year’s winners and nominees for their hard work and dedication to making a difference in the industry.”
