App IDs, Rates Restrooms

With Spring Break season upon us, how do you choose where to “go” when you’ve “got to go” away from home? With nearly all parents (98 percent) saying that clean restrooms are an important factor when deciding where to stop while driving on a family road trip, Cintas Corporation comes to the rescue with its new clean restroom finder app, “Got to Go,” which allows users to find and rate the cleanliness of restrooms in their vicinity.

“No matter where your road trip takes you this travel season, Mother Nature will call and you will want a clean restroom when she does,” says Jillian Bauer, marketing manager with Cintas. “With the spring break road trip season in full swing, the ‘Got to Go’ app will help travelers across the country find clean and sanitary restrooms when they need them most.”

Within the app, users will see a map showing nearby restrooms differentiated by three colors. Top-rated, clean restrooms are indicated with a green icon; low-rated, dirty restrooms are indicated with a yellow icon; and unrated restrooms are indicted by a blue icon. Users can also view restrooms in a “list view” which allows them to see nearby restrooms sorted by distance.

When clicking on a restroom icon, users can learn about the restroom’s condition and also rate the restroom. Users can rate the condition of the facility (dirty or clean), supply level (low or well-stocked), smell (good or bad) and whether it’s open to the public or available to customers only. Users can also get directions to the restroom since the app is linked to Google Maps and Apple Maps. Users can also filter the results by location, such as gas and convenience stores; coffee shops and restaurants; retail stores; or government and public buildings.

The Cintas’ “America’s Best Restroom” contest nominees and winners are also integrated within Got to Go, so users can locate, view and visit some of the most memorable restrooms from coast to coast.
