Enlighted: Company's IoT System Highlighted in Competition at LIGHTFAIR

Sunnyvale, Calif. — April 26, 2016 — The Enlighted system, an advanced Internet of Things (IoT) platform for commercial buildings, received a special distinction during the Next Generation Luminaires (NGL) LIGHTFAIR 2016 presentation on April 26 in San Diego. The lighting competition acknowledged the Enlighted System and its advanced sensor technology in a new category, and plans to expand this category in future competitions.

The NGL presentation included Enlighted's partnership with Pinnacle Architectural Lighting. The architectural LED lighting company has integrated the Enlighted smart sensor with its LED Lucen 2 x 2 architectural recessed luminaire. With the addition of the sensor, the LED Lucen fixture is able to collect a granular level of data that is then interpreted by the system and made actionable through an apps suite that includes Enlighted's lighting, space planning, and HVAC apps.

NGL's presentation was primarily educational and focused on sharing what was learned from reviewing each of the advanced systems, including notable features that made them consider this new category.

"We had a number of submissions this year that demonstrated impressive ways the industry is rapidly growing, and we felt it was time to evolve the competition to include the technology," said Ruth Taylor, spokesperson and project manager, NGL Competition. "The submission from Enlighted and Pinnacle Architectural Lighting is a notable illustration of this advancement. We're excited to present our observations of the integrated sensor system, and expand this category as the competition moves forward."

NGL encourages manufacturers to develop innovative, energy-efficient luminaires that provide high lighting quality and consistency. The competition is sponsored by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), the Illuminating Engineering Society (IES), and the International Association of Lighting Designers (IALD).
