Building Robotics: Comfy App Named in Global Cleantech 100

Oakland, Calif. — Building Robotics, the makers of Comfy, announced that the product was named in the prestigious 2015 Global Cleantech 100. Produced annually by Cleantech Group, the list represents the most innovative and promising solutions in cleantech.

Comfy is a Web and mobile app that allows individual requests for warm or cool air anywhere in an office.

The Cleantech Group 100-member expert panel reviewed nominations and proprietary research data on almost 7,000 companies from 60 countries to choose the top 100 best positioned to solve the world’s greatest clean-technology challenges.

The company’s inclusion in the Global Cleantech 100 list comes on the heels of the public results from an installation of Comfy as part of the U.S. General Services Administration’s Green Proving Ground program. Notable findings from the 80-page report include an 83 percent increase in workplace comfort, while at the same time reducing energy consumption by 20 percent in cooling and 47 percent in heating.

Since its product launch in 2014, Comfy has been quickly adopted in offices around the world, including WeWork, Google, Johnson Controls, and Infosys. In late 2015, Building Robotics announced its intention to grow beyond HVAC optimization with the +Comfy ecosystem.
