Kentec: Company's Fire Alarm Control Panel Tours the World with Cirque du Soleil

Feb. 16, 2016 — An innovative, portable, wireless fire alarm system specially designed to protect audiences in the Cirque du Soleil KOOZA touring company’s 3,000-seat big-top tent during performances in Poland, Belgium, and most recently Singapore uses a Kentec fire alarm control panel.

The system, designed and installed by Fire Systems Ltd., comprises a single loop Kentec Syncro AS analogue addressable fire alarm control panel; Hyfire devices, including one translator and two expanders, to control 22 wireless sounder strobes; and wireless manual call points with Argus protocol.

The system is interfaced to a Scope pager system that, upon activation, first alerts on-site fire wardens and security staff via radio pagers. This allows any alarm to be investigated to determine its status, before triggering the audible fire alarm and evacuating the big top.

Cirque du Soleil is the sorld’s largest theatrical producer, having brought its unique theater to more than 100 million people in over 40 countries.
