Navigant Research: New Report Published on Advanced Sensors for Intelligent Buildings
Jan. 20, 2016 — The intelligent buildings market continues to evolve as customers realize the potential economic, sustainability, and business benefits that can be gained from investments in these buildings. Advanced sensors have a critical role to play in transforming facilities into intelligent buildings. These intelligent devices contain sensing devices that deliver a digital output and are networked via wired or wireless configurations to support actionable insight that can improve building performance.
Advanced sensors may be a component of an intelligent building solution with software and services or standalone devices for data acquisition.
Navigant Research suggests that the facilities industry is undergoing a dramatic transformation. Factors such as an aging workforce, changing expectations from tenants and employees, and new pressures on sustainability and efficiency are opening the door to intelligent building solutions. Advanced sensors represent a key enabling device for this evolution, and there are significant opportunities across geographies and customer segments.
According to Navigant Research, global advanced sensor revenue is expected to grow from $1,160.3 million in 2016 to $3,221.9 million in 2025.
