Yost Grube Hall: Headquarters Is Awarded LEED Gold Certification

Portland, Ore. — Jan. 11, 2016— Yost Grube Hall Architecture (YGH) announced that its headquarters office in downtown Portland has earned LEED Gold certification by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC).

The 10,000-square-foot space, which was submitted through the LEED for Commercial Interiors (LEED-CI) program, has previously been recognized with two awards for outstanding design. YGH moved into the renovated space in 2013.

The YGH office received its LEED Gold certification through a combination of factors beginning with the decision to select a location that accommodates walkability, public transportation, and bicycle commuting.

The office’s open floor plan and 8-foot tall windows flood the interior spaces with natural light, while systems are designed to dramatically reduce water use and optimize energy performance.

Sustainable, healthy materials have been carefully specified, including locally reclaimed wood and low-emitting paints, flooring systems, and furniture.

The project earned additional certification points for YGH-led sustainable office policies and green education opportunities.

Founded in Portland in 1964, Yost Grube Hall Architecture (YGH) provides planning, architecture, and interior design services for commercial, educational, and governmental clients in the Northwest and overseas. For more information, visit www.ygh.com.
