3M: Scotchgard Surface Protection Film 2200 Wins ISSA 2015 Innovation Award

St. Paul, Minn. — Nov. 12, 2015 — Floors and surfaces in high traffic areas, such as hospital and hotel lobbies, often have limited defenses to prevent daily wear and tear. To combat this issue, 3M introduced Scotchgard Surface Protection Film 2200, which is designed to protect stone and vinyl flooring, bathroom surfaces, and walls. Now this unique, high-performance product has been named the 2015 ISSA Innovation Award “Supplies” category winner.

Each year ISSA recognizes the industry’s most groundbreaking products and services with its distinguished Innovation Award Program. Entrants are voted on by representatives of distributors, wholesalers, and facility services providers throughout the industry. This marks the second year in a row that 3M has been honored with an award. In 2014 Scotchgard Resilient Floor Protector won in the “Cleaning Agents” category.

“It’s an honor to be recognized, year after year by ISSA and the industry we serve,” said Aaron Mills, marketing and development manager, 3M. “At 3M we strive to create smart and innovative solutions for common, everyday problems. ISSA’s Innovation Award does a wonderful job of recognizing noteworthy solutions-based products. We consider it to be an immense accomplishment to be recognized.”

Scotchgard Surface Protection Film 2200 is a thin floor film that provides substantial, nearly invisible protection from a variety of finish-eroding events, from high foot traffic and furniture to harmful liquid drips and spills. It reduces the time, cost, and labor required for stripping and refinishing surfaces. Easy to install 1-, 2- or 4-foot squares can be easily applied to surfaces in minutes. When properly applied, the film can reduce the number of stripping and recoating events. They also can be easily removed prior to floor stripping or finishing.

Designed for use in hospitals, classrooms, airports, office buildings, retail spaces, hotels, laboratories, and more, the film may be used to protect building entrances, dining area floors, bathroom surfaces, underneath chairs, and other areas that see heavy traffic or finish-eroding drips and leaks. It can be used on waxed vinyl, sealed concrete, marble and ceramic tile terrazzo, and more, and it is compatible with standard floor cleaning procedures, and standard floor disinfectants, cleaners, and coatings. The film is certified by the National Floor Safety Institute (NFSI) as providing “High Traction.”

Scotchgard Surface Protection Film 2200 is backed by more than five decades of experience in floor maintenance and protection. Regardless of surface type, traffic pattern, or desired appearance, 3M offers an innovative product solution to suit your floor-care needs.
