IFMA: St. Louis Chapter Honored for its Governmental Advocacy

St. Louis, Mo. — Oct. 29, 2015 — The International Facility Management Association (IFMA) recognized the St. Louis chapter with its 2015 IFMA Chapter Excellence Award for Government Affairs.

The honor was presented last month at IFMA’s World Workplace Conference and Expo in Denver.

IFMA St. Louis was selected for its advocacy program and strategy, including its ability to inform state legislators about the importance of historic and brownfield tax credits.

“We clearly understand the impact of local, state, and federal legislation on the health of our industry,” said Christopher Laughman, chapter president and corporate facilities manager for Graybar Electric Co. “As such, we have forged relationships with key stakeholders and decision-makers to ensure that our members are aware of potential issues and positions. This national honor shows that our members are working diligently to have a voice in advancing the causes and success of our industry.”

IFMA’s annual Awards of Excellence recognize the outstanding achievements of individual IFMA members, chapters, councils, and partners.
