Cerami & Associates: NeoCon Presentations to Include 'Redefining Acoustical Privacy'
Sept. 24, 2015 — Is sound privacy similar to a game of Jenga? Engineer Victoria Cerami, CEO of Cerami & Associates, says yes — and she will explain why in a talk on acoustical privacy in the office on Oct. 28 as part of the NeoCon East conference in Philadelphia.
Joined by Gensler senior interior designer Jennifer Nye, Cerami will discuss how workers are struggling to work effectively, in part due to our inability to focus at work as we pursue higher levels of collaboration.
Cerami will offer practical design solutions for sound privacy, too. The key is to understand four different modes of work — focus, learning, collaboration, and socialization — as well as worker expectations around privacy and noise.
Her talk, officially titled "Redefining Acoustical Privacy: A Game of Jenga," will be from 1 to 2 p.m., Oct. 28, at the Pennsylvania Convention Center.
