Technoform Glass Insulation: Company Announces Agreement to Promote Technoform Products in MasterSpec by ARCOM
Twinsburg, Ohio — July 30, 2015 — Technoform Glass Insulation NA, Inc., a global leader in high performance, warm edge spacer technology for insulating glass units, and ARCOM, the leader in building specification services and tools, announced an agreement to promote their TGI-Spacer product to architects, engineers, and design professionals in the leading specification software MasterSpec.
Technoform develops innovative solutions to increase energy efficiency in the building façade. The company designs and manufactures window system components, such as TGI-Spacer, which are used to improve energy efficiency in the building envelope. TGI-Spacer is used in dual- and triple-pane insulated glass units of commercial, architectural, and residential window applications, including curtain wall and structurally glazed units.
ARCOM MasterSpec, a product of the American Institute of Architects, continues to be the most trusted and widely used specification system in the construction industry. The ARCOM writing staff reviews each manufacturer and product in detail before listing them in order to ensure that each meet the quality criteria that architects, engineers, and consultants expect with MasterSpec.
Technoform's higher-performing warm edge air spacer, TGI-Spacer, is now included in this prestigious guide. The TGI-Spacer is a unique hybrid spacer system incorporating a high-performance proprietary polypropylene and low conductivity stainless steel to provide minimal heat transfer, excellent site-line temperatures, and condensation resistance.
The inorganic stainless steel surface allows for excellent sealant adhesion that mitigates the loss of gas leakage and prevents moisture from penetrating the insulating glass unit. The decision to include TGI-Spacer in MasterSpec reflects a change in building codes relative to energy efficiency. TGI-Spacer offers versatility for distinct commercial and residential window applications.
Technoform and ARCOM believe this new agreement will benefit design professionals as they select and specify products. “We’re seeing an increasing demand for higher performing products within the fenestration industry, specifically focusing on energy efficiency and sustainability within buildings. Our inclusion in MasterSpec confirms both our commitment and support to the increasing energy efficient standards,” said Laura Woods, product manager at Technoform.
TGI-Spacer was recently used in the Deloitte Tower in Montreal, which features 285,000 square meters of glass. TGI-Spacer was used in both the structural silicone glazed units as well as the spandrel glass application. The product is one of the leading hybrid warm edge rigid spacer bars globally.
