SOPREMA Offers Self-Adhesive, Vapor Permeable Air Barrier Product

Wadsworth, Ohio — Nov. 10, 2014 — SOPREMA, Inc. has developed Sopraseal Stick VP, a self-adhesive, vapor permeable air barrier product, composed of tri-laminate polypropylene with a proprietary high tack adhesive, providing a superior bond to the substrate. Sopraseal Stick VP also provides excellent protection to the structure from the damaging effects of air and water infiltration.

Used in wall construction, the Sopraseal Stick VP membrane is easily adhered to the substrate by peeling off the plastic release film and sticking it directly on the wall, requiring no mechanical fasteners and reducing time spent on the job.

Sopraseal Stick VP is lightweight, allowing for easy handling and installation, and requires no primer, yielding consistent perm ratings and reducing material and labor costs. Additionally, Sopraseal Stick VP may be adhered to a variety of construction substrates such as plywood, OSB, block, masonry, and exterior gypsum panels.

Sopraseal Stick VP can also be applied in a wide range of temperatures (20-105 degrees Fahrenheit) and offers uncovered UV protection for up to 180 days.

Sopraseal Stick VP has a water vapor permeable rating of 9 without primer and meets the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 285 requirements. Sopraseal Stick VP comes with a five-year warranty.
