MaxLite Offers 5-Watt LED G9 lamp as 40W Halogen Replacement

West Caldwell, N.J. – Nov. 13, 2014 — MaxLite has introduced a higher-lumen solution for the decorative lighting market with a new 5-watt LED G9 lamp.

Designed as an energy-efficient replacement for 40-watt halogen T4 G9-based lamps, the 5-watt LED retrofits easily into existing G9 sockets in decorative glass pendants, chandeliers, and bath bars.

Available in dimmable and non-dimmable versions, the lamp delivers up to 450 lumens with a 300-degree beam angle for uniform light distribution. With a 2.4-inch maximum overall length and 1.6-inch heat sink diameter, MaxLite’s 5-watt lamp is quite possibly the industry’s most compact high lumen LED G9.

The 5-watt LED G9 is TUV safety listed and may be used in non-enclosed luminaries in dry locations.

“The compact design and high lumen output of the five-watt G9 LED greatly expands the design possibilities available to lighting-fixture manufacturers,” noted Product Manager Alex Truong.

The 5-watt model adds greater versatility to MaxLite’s line of G9 LED lamps, which also includes a 2- and 3-watt model. Offered in a warm white color temperature of 2700K, MaxLite’s G9 LED lamps are designed to produce halogen-like light, without sacrificing quality, for more than 12 times the life of a typical halogen. Unlike their halogen equivalents, the LED lamps do not require handling with gloves or a soft cloth to avoid premature risk of rupture.
