IICRC to Open New Global Resource Center

Las Vegas facility offers more than 20,000 square feet of space for mixed use

LAS VEGAS — The Institute of Inspection Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC) has announced the purchase of a property in Las Vegas that will serve as its new Global Resource Center. Conveniently located between the Las Vegas strip and McCarran International Airport, the facility is outfitted for a number of potential uses, including meetings, conferences, video production, laboratory space, storage and documenting the history of the industry with a library or museum.

“The acquisition of this multi-use property offers several exciting opportunities,” said IICRC chairman Darrell Paulson. “This potentially includes administrative services, supplies and inventory, training and meeting space and many other alternatives that will be provided to the Board and further refined and implemented in years to come.”

The property has approximately 2,500 square feet of warehouse space and 17,500 square feet of office space located on 1.62 acres. With 35 covered parking spaces and a bus stop conveniently located just outside the front door, it is easily accessible to anyone traveling from the airport or the Las Vegas strip. A former bank, the property also hosts a large walk-in vault that could be used for secure document storage, along with a commercial kitchen.

“This property checked all the boxes for us,” said IICRC international vice president Tony Wheelwright. “Communication is a mission of our organization, and this facility will give us the space and resources for our constituents to gather and build upon the IICRC’s reputation as the leading authority and source of professional knowledge in the industry.”

Following the board of directors’ determinations on use, extensive renovations will immediately begin to prepare the building for its official opening in January 2014.

“We want this building to become a destination for people around the world who are looking to expand their knowledge of our industry,” added Paulson. “We look forward to seeing what exciting things develop over the next few months and welcoming the industry to our grand opening next January.”
